My name is Nelson Kok and this is my personal website. I am a Malaysian, an Entrepreneur and a Freelance Trainer by profession. I am based in Penang, Malaysia. I have more than 24 years of working experience with both multinational and local high volume manufacturing companies. I have been doing freelance corporate trainings since 1994. As an independent consultant and freelance corporate trainer, I work freely with training providers and organizations that require my services as a trainer or a consultant on a project (or contract) basis. I do travel all over Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, China and Sudan for training assignments. Click here to view my resume. My ambition is to assist organizations to achieve higher quality and productivity level by using proven Management, Quality, Engineering & IT tools and techniques. Very often I am asked by consultant companies or customers to provide detailed information on my training courses, either for them to propose to their top management for decision making or for HRDF submissions. This prompted me to create this website so that these information can be readily available to everyone at all times. Through years of training experience, I have helped improved, improvised and enhanced many traditional courses for my customers. For example, as their employees grow in the organization, my customers wanted a more structured and systematic training programs to develop their selected employees into Supervisory or Managerial positions. Many of my client organizations use these programs to 'certify' their employees (i.e. organization will issue their own training certificate to their employees who completed all the training modules found in the structured program.) Another example is Statistics & Quality Improvements training program. These are very important subjects especially for employees managing the daily operations of the organization. However, traditional way of teaching these courses (such as Data Analysis, Statistics, and Quality Improvements Methods (SPC), (QC) Tools, etc) can be very boring as it involves tedious calculations, remembering formulas, searching statistical tables and spending hours on manual charting/graphing activities. With today's advancement in software packages like Microsoft® Excel spreadsheet program, I can make learning fun, more insightful & real by applying real business case studies into my training courses to help learners accelerate their learning curves. Many essential Quality Improvements subjects and business/MBA-related subjects can be taught differently using this new approach. The key here is to apply best-known methods by making good use of today’s IT tools to make those important quality-related & business decisions more accurately, faster, easier and more presentable.
